Yes you are correct.

Not really, I think Berk means this:
for cur_time in reader.TimestepValues.GetData()[:]:
scene.AnimationTime = cur_time
WriteImage("foo1.%f.png" % cur_time, view1);
WriteImage("foo2.%f.png" % cur_time, view2);
