[Paraview] Extract edges: don't line up with input geometry?

Hi,

I have an input polydata set consisting of n-sided polygons with n in
the range 3 up to 12 (I'm guessing here), i.e. not just triangles and
quads. If I run an Extract Edges filter on this set the edges do not
line up at all with input polygons (see screenshot). I'm sure I didn't
accidentally introduce any transforms myself, so I don't understand
where the mismatch is coming from. It also looks like the offset isn't
consistent, as for some polygons the edges are shifted in +X direction,
and other in -X. Is the filter somehow loosing precision during
computations?

Any clues?
