Steady on! The temporalShiftScale modified the time passed into the local portion of the pipeline - this is not the global time request - it is the time passed upstream. But what I meant was why not just add a checkbox to TemporalShiftScale to "suppress time" and simply 'not' pass it upstream rather than pass a modified time upstream.

Indeed, but as others have posted. A combination of the two can be very powerful. However, if your stuff works for you, all well and good. I'll have a look at it and see if the functionality could be better incorporated into TemporalshiftScale

one option would be enhance TemporalshiftScale with your force option and rename it to TemporalModifier (or similar) to avoid a strict name adherence to functionality

indeed - just telling TemporalShiftScale to freeze at one user selected time value would achieve this. I'll look into it.
