[Paraview] python to read VTK, VTU file And Values ?

Hi all,

I am work with Paraview (3.6.1) and with linux.
I have a little question. 
After I read a file, I do a contour and I have need to know min and max values to generate a new isosurface range.
I wonder if I can find the information like the data when I read a VTK (or VTU) file on Python.
