[Paraview] Plugin behaviour in pvpython

I'm using the split function to get the file's name and extension. I think I
may have a workaround for this in the short term.

Who's doing the stripping? Is it the vtkFooReader? In that case, there's
nothing in pvpython that will prevent the vtkFooReader class from changing
the filename internally.
