[Paraview] Reader Interface

Where can I find information on how a reader is called to update its output? It seems there was an article on the Wiki pages about this but I haven't been able to find it.

The ProcessRequest method is called many times for actions like REQUEST_DATA, REQUEST_DATA_OBJECT, and so on, and I'm not quite sure what should happen for each. The reader will be used in parallel applications.

In particular, I'm trying to figure out whether the "pieces" passed with these actions are the same as the "pieces" in the VTK/XML file formats.
