[Paraview] NIfTI import filter

Dear list,

I searched the paraview and vtk web sites, but could not find a good
answer whether there is an import filter that can read NIfTI 3D image
files. It does not seem to be in standard Paraview, but other vtk/itk
based medical imaging solutions seem support this format.
I would be grateful for any advice how to activate support for this file
format if it is already implemented. If its not, I will try to implement
an import filter myself.
