[Paraview] dem data

Hi,
I have dem data that was placed in a VTK file format by someone working 
with VTK. I am trying to
load it into paraview as terrain data because it is to large for VTK on 
any single workstation.  I am only posting the
first 36 points out of the 36723600 points that are in one file. How do 
I recreate the dem terrain, paraview loads it
as an image?
