[Paraview] ParaView 3.0 Beta Problems

I have encountered two problems with ParaView 3.0 Beta:

1. Legacy VTK time series data does not play correctly in 3.0 beta, while is
does work in 2.4.4 and 2.6.1.
2. The PLY reader does not read in RGB colors correctly (or perhaps it reads
correctly but does not display it correctly).  It does work in 2.4.4 and
2.6.1.
