[Paraview] Adding Colormaps

It seems that new colormaps can be easily added in PV3:

How could I add custom colormaps to 2.6.1? Ideally, in the "Scalar Color Bar" 
menu, the "Select a preset colormap" button would show an extended list of 
colormaps that include ours.

It would be great if there was a way to use the same concise XML format shown 
in the above PV3 example. However, I don't mind editing the source if needed to 
make this happen. All suggestions appreciated.
