[Paraview] Paraview 3.0.2 crashes when trying to connect to
a server. A bug?

We usually advise people not to use the renderserver/dataserver setup
unless you have a good reason to use it. The simple client/server mode
usually works more efficiently because there is less copying of data
around.
If you still care about your problem (and you probably shouldn't), it
looks like the render server is reporting its hostnames as localhost.
That hostname is, of course, wrong when the data server tries to connect
to the render server. You can use the --machines option to specify the
correct hostnames.
