[Paraview] versions > 2.4 crashing painfully

It crashes on all my files so it's pretty reproducible. I tried running
it under gdb but seems PV was not compiled with -g:
Program received signal SIGSEGV, Segmentation fault.

I don't want to compile 2.6 due to GUI compilaiton problems. I will try
to build 2.9 in debug version and post the gdb results.
