[Paraview] Blanking details

The paraview website indicates that iblanking is supported by paraview
but it is not fully implemented. Can someone tell me what the current
capabilities are and what the plans are for the near future? I read in a
grid with iblanking and the blanking did not appear to have any effect
on the display (i.e. holes were visible). Are there any steps that need
to be taken to activate the blanking after it is read in?
