[Paraview] Locating a filter

I have the proper .xml and .pvdm files created with the PV_INTERFACE_PATH
pointing to them. The filter show up in the filter list but is not
highlighted for any datasets, in particualr not for the dataset is should be
available for.

Do i have to manually link paraview to the VTK source path for it to
regester this vtk file im using? Are there any other suggestions?
