take a look in the following Wiki's link

the example posted there is about a package able to compute cell
derivatives. With this filter you can do what you're looking for.

I noticed that ParaView calculates vorticity along streamlines. Is there a
way of getting access to that vorticity calculation that would let me make
isosurfaces of the magnitude of vorticity in my vector data?
