Hello,
I am trying to compile Paraview on a new Opteron workstation, but it's
not working.
I have tried to compile every 2.4.x version I could get hold of (2.4.1-3
and 2.4-CVS branch) and after ccmake (without changing anything from the
default values apart the target directory) the make command always gives
me:
/usr/local/src/tmp/build# make
gmake: *** No targets specified and no makefile found. Stop.
make[2]: *** [maketcltk] Error 1
make[1]: *** [Utilities/TclTk/CMakeFiles/maketcltk.dir/all] Error 2
make: *** [all] Error 2
/usr/local/src/tmp/build#
... not very useful ... but still this seems to be early on in the make
process ... TCLTK! So I tried to execute by hand the scripts in
the .../Utilities/TclTk directory:
/usr/local/src/tmp/build/Utilities/TclTk#./configure_tcltk.sh
[...]
checking if 64bit support is requested... no
checking if 64bit Sparc VIS support is requested... no
checking system version (for dynamic
loading)... /usr/local/src/tmp/ParaView/Utilities/TclTk/tcl8.4.5/unix/configure: line 13936: syntax error near unexpected token `)'
/usr/local/src/tmp/ParaView/Utilities/TclTk/tcl8.4.5/unix/configure:
line 13936: ` OSF*)'
/usr/local/src/tmp/build/Utilities/TclTk#
I have compiled Paraview using several compilers on several machines ...
but I've never seen this error before (although it's the first 64-bit
machine I'm compiling Paraview on :-) AND using the latest development
branch (I think it's 2.5.0) I don't get this error!
Is this some kind of system-level misconfiguration or is it a Paraview
bug?
Regards, Simone
