[Paraview] paraview - releases from 07/07 and 07/11 - are they broken?

FYI: The 2.2 release binaries died with a stack overflow on startup on
Jean's laptop here - but worked on my desktop. a cvs update and build on
my desktop died with the same stack overflow on my desktop, but a clean
checkout and built on the 2-2 branch worked ok (on the desktop). Some
problem when creating the gui widgets triggering events recursively
during creation it seemed like. No idea why it worked and failed on
differnt machines. (all XP. Linux seems to be ok)
