[Paraview] Generating contours

I've just started using Paraview 1.2. I sort of like the new interface
for the Contour object. I'm having two difficulties with it.
1. I'm using a .pvd file to display a time series. The new interface
provides a nice way to generate a whole range of contour values. However,
the upper and lower bounds are limited by the range of data in the
currently displayed time step, which does not span the whole range of
values in the time series. I try to manually set the upper and lower
bounds, but I can't set bounds outside of the range of values at the
current time step. That is no good for me, since I need to create
contours that showup in some time steps and not in others. Please change
the behavior so I can set any values. It might be nice if there were a
way to see the range of values over the whole time series.
2. Also, rather than having a "Number of Values" widget, I'd rather have a
"Spacing Between Contours" widget.
thanks,
