Andy,

Just FYI, I also followed up with Alan off list. My guess is that some Python script with the line

"#! /usr/bin/env python2.7

is being called, but Allen's system does not have a python2.7 binary installed. There is such a call in the twisted test_dist.py file under paraview/VTK/ThirdParty/Twisted/twisted/python/test/test_dist.py that could be the offender, but I'm not entirely sure it is being called during the installation step.
