[Paraview-developers] Filter/pipeline design question - any helpful hints?

You guessed it right :). But don't let that stop you providing such
metadata (say as arrays in field data) and create a plugin, for
example, or a toolbar button that when clicked uses that meta-data to
setup the coloring.
