BTW, we've now moved to documenting these in the doxygen pages:
http://www.paraview.org/ParaView3/Doc/Nightly/www/cxx-doc/index.html
Makes it easier to keep it updated. If someone wants to volunteer to
ensure that the hints on Wiki page are indeed documented here and then
mark the Wiki to refer to the doxygen page, that'd be great :).
