[Paraview-developers] External data, build targets and testing

Hi,

The improvements to testing look great, but the mixture of downloads
and building ParaView cause things to take even longer here. It is
possible to separate the download/set up of external data from the
make all target? I know that the tests would fail, but build would be
faster and I could download the data when I know I have a decent
connection.

Just a thought, not sure how hard coded the external data is with the
build targets now. It would be great to do this at the VTK level too
if possible.
