[Paraview-developers] VTK_USE_MPI

Could someone explain the logic of making the VTK_USE_MPI flag and
advanced option, particularly for ParaView?  More than anything,
ParaView is supposed to be a parallel visualization application, so why
is the option to build it as a parallel program hidden amongst 7 pages
of other more obscure options?
