[Insight-users] how dicom writer handles pixel data

Hi Insight-users,

I have tried to search in the mailing list for an updated answer about how ITK4 nightly handles pixel data when it writes out dicom files with gdcmIO, but couldn't.

This is what I got from my experience.
1. Pixel value doesn't get reversely rescaled using user specified "RescaleIntercept (0028|1052)" and "RescaleSlope (0028|1053)".
2. The output dicom always has those two values reset to be 0.0 and 1.0, no matter what values are set in metadatadictionary before writer.update()

Did I get it right?
