[Insight-users] Get Type of object

Hi, I have a simple question. How do you get the type of an object? For
example in a function I get a ImageIOBase object as input and inside the
function I want to make an iterator for the image. But  the iterators need
a static type to be initialized, so how could I make a flexible iterator
for different types of images?
