[Insight-users] SimpleITK for image registration?

Hi all,

I need to perform an image registration task (specifically, I want to
register multiple 2D planes to a single 3D reference volume), and I'm
looking for the simplest way to achieve this without delving into C++.
The SimpleITK tutorial notebooks
<https://github.com/SimpleITK/SimpleITK-Notebooks> contain examples
showing how to apply a pre-computed transformation to some image data,
but I'm more interested in how to compute the transformation itself.

I came across this thread
<http://www.itk.org/pipermail/insight-users/2012-July/045330.html> from
July last year suggesting that the registration framework was not yet
implemented in SimpleITK - is this still the case, and are there any
plans for when these classes might be implemented in SimpleITK? If I
can't use SimpleITK, what is the simplest way for someone with no C++
programming experience to make use of ITK's registration framework?

Cheers,
Alistair
