My usage is always like this:
typedef itk::MaskImageFilter< UnsignedCharScalarImageType,
UnsignedCharScalarImageType, UnsignedCharScalarImageType >
MaskFilterType;
MaskFilterType::Pointer maskFilter = MaskFilterType::New();
maskFilter->SetInput(image);
maskFilter->SetMaskImage(mask);
maskFilter->Update();
