Hi Bill,

I thought so, but to make sure, I downloaded, compiled and installed ITK 
v3.20 again. I used

BUILD_DOXYGEN                    OFF
BUILD_EXAMPLES                   OFF
BUILD_SHARED_LIBS                ON
BUILD_TESTING                    OFF
CMAKE_BACKWARDS_COMPATIBILITY    2.4
CMAKE_BUILD_TYPE                 Release
CMAKE_INSTALL_PREFIX             /usr/local
ITK_USE_KWSTYLE                  OFF

The speed results now are similar to those reported in my previous email.
