you have a set of .dcm files in a directory,
and that these files:

     a) Contain each one a 2D slice, and
     b) Have a different DICOM Series ID

Is that right ?


Please note that it is unusual for DICOM files to have
different series ID if they indeed belong to the same
3D dataset.


The ITK DICOM reader will only collect filename
that belong to the *same* series.

It is therefore natural in this case that the output
file contain a single slice.

...

If you are *certain* that these files from different
series do indeed belong to the same 3D dataset,
then you could force the behavior of the Series
reader by collecting the filename "by hand"
instead of using the class

            itk::GDCMSeriesFileNames

that is used in the DicomSeriesReadImageWrite2.cxx
example.

You could use instead the class:

      itkRegularExpressionSeriesFileNames



But again.... please make sure first that this is
indeed what you need to do.

Otherwise you may be making a dangerous
mix of medical data....
