The current MeanImageFilter does not work with RGB, and RGBA pixel types for the reasons outlined in section 4.1.5 of the "ITK Software Guide". I am not saying I agree with this, but it's how it is.

I test the boundary cases, if the documentation says the parameters are valid then it should work, or else some one will call it a bug.
