Hi Anja,
This is explained in detail in the ITK Software Guide
http://www.itk.org/ItkSoftwareGuide.df
in Chapter 8 : "Image Registration",
specifically in Section 8.3 "Features of the Registration Framework",
and
Section 8.3.1. "Direction of the Transform Mapping"
in pdf-pages 359-360.
Please read this section carefully and let us know if you
