Artificial Intelligence in Medicine (AIM) Program

NIH-funded postdoctoral positions are available immediately in the  
Artificial Intelligence in
Medicine Laboratory/Departments of Imaging and Medicine at Cedars- 
Sinai Medical Center
in Los Angeles (www.csmc.edu).  Our software group, which includes  
PhD medical
physicists, medical doctors, PhD computer scientists, and  
programmers, develops novel
medical imaging computer algorithms, which are distributed throughout  
the world via all
major vendors.  Our research is focused on the automation of image  
processing and computer-
aided diagnosis derived from cardiac medical images.

The ideal candidates for these positions are highly self-motivated  
individuals who want a
challenge and have a hands-on, can-do approach.  A strong background  
in computer science,
medical imaging, scientific and numerical C++ programming, image  
processing, applied
mathematics and medical statistics is required.

We are closely associated with the Cedars-Sinai cardiac imaging  
division, which is
equipped with the latest dedicated cardiac SPECT, MRI, CTA (dual  
source CT), PET/CT (64-
slice Biograph), and other types of the latest scanners with a  
variety of image processing
workstations.  A large database of medical images is also available  
for retrospective computer
image processing research.

Top-rated and world-renowned Cedars-Sinai Medical Center, known as  
“the hospital for the
stars”, is located in Los Angeles, California, between West Hollywood  
and Beverly Hills.
Academically, the medical center is affiliated with the University of  
California, Los Angeles
(UCLA), located a few miles away.
