Job Description:
The Job:
We are searching for a software developer to work in a
multidisciplinary research team to develop advanced software for
three-dimensional graphics, visualization, and image processing. The
job will entail creating new libraries, applications, and user
interfaces, as well as adapting existing scientific software in
biomedical research projects within the NIH funded Center for
Integrative Biomedical Computing (CIBC: www.sci.utah.edu/cibc).
Requirements:
Bachelor’s degree in computer science, bioengineering, or related
discipline
Highly developed C++ programming skills
Software engineering expertise
Strong communication skills, established ability to interact well
with scientists, students, and academic staff
Desire to work in an interdisciplinary team of programmers and
scientists
Ability to work independently with moderate level of supervision
Desired training or experience:
Familiarity with large scale, open-source software systems, e.g.,
SCIRun/BioPSE
A firm knowledge of computer graphics and scientific visualization
(OpenGL)
Basic knowledge of biology or biomedicine would be an asset
Salary Range:
$40,000 - $60,000 annually depending on experience
