Frederic:

Images can be created from raw C style pointers. Please see the classes
itk::Image and itk::ImportImageContainer. Look for the methods :

  Image::SetPixelContainer
  ImportImageContainer::SetImportPointer( T *, .. )

You can pass in a raw pointer of any data type T.
