I've been able to avoid the above-quoted crash in ITK 3.2.0 by changing back 
to a .hdr output filename extension instead of .mhd that was suggested in a 
previous reply (which is not to imply that that suggest would not have 
worked, since my own modifications could have been partly at fault).

However I'm still getting the warnings about image orientation, even when 
attempting to use an OrientImageFilter to set it.  Is there a way to write 
an input Analyze image header that won't generate this warning, when loaded 
or when those images are processed, or to properly set the orientation info 
of an image already in memory?
