Hello Lorenzo,

	The short answer is GDCMImageIO uses the GDCM DICOM library, whereas 
DICOMImageIO uses the DICOMParser library. In general you should be 
using GDCMImageIO as it is the default DICOM library. I do not believe 
DICOMImageIO2 is being worked on anymore.
