Hi Grace,

I think that depends on your data and on what you want to do with this data.

If you have for example an image which shows only an humerus on the right hand side, it will 
probably be better to use the moments, that is the intensity values for determining the center.

But if your information is uniformly distributed within the image I would prefer the geometrical center.
