[Insight-users] Float-valued image IO

I need to look at some float-valued images without converting them to
unsigned char or short before writing the image. There are a couple
format that support it in the ITK package:
Analyze, DICOM, GIPL, NRRD, Stimulate, and VTK. I don't have ways to
read these images and the imagemagick conversion does not support
conversion from these formats anyway.
(DICOM is supported by imagemagick but I get a run-time error when I
try to output float images from it)

Is anybody aware of (freely available) image vieweres that would let
me look at at values in these images on the pixel-level?

I think I'll add float input/output capability for the TIFF format in
my ITK copy but I will still have trouble viewing the data? Any
suggestions would be greatly appreciated.
