Hi Yixun,
By a "dense" point set, do you mean an ITK image
where the pixel type is itk::Point ?
if so, sure you can get a spare sampling from it.
The questions is:
Do you want to select the points based on a
specific criterion ?
or just to extract a random sampling ?
if a random sampling is ok, you can use the RandomImageIterator
as it is described in the ITK Software Guide
http://www.itk.org/ItkSoftwareGuide.pdf
in the "Iterators" chapter.
The resulting set of points can be stored in an itk::PointSet
class, as described in the "Data Representation" Chapter of
the ITK Software Guide.
