[Insight-users] Question on minimal curvature of level set function

Hi,
  I have several questions on the minimal curvature of level set
functions: (The relevant ITK class is itkLevelSetFunction)

1) When is using minimal curvature better than using mean curvature?

2) Why the returned value by ComputeMinimalCurvature() is always positve?
  The implication is the the speed influenced by the minimal curvature
  term is always toward inside or always toward outside. On the contray,
  the mean curvature could be positve or negative.

3) Is there any reference for the way how the minimal curvature is
calculated?

 Any help is highly appreciated!
