There is an ImageJ plugin that does GLCM ....ImageJ is an open source 
image analysis application written in Java by Wayne Rasband at NIH and 
many user contributed plugins

someone knows if there is an open source application for calculate texture 

features by the gray level co-occurrence matrix 
and/or gaussian markov random field methods ?
