Hi Robert,

Welcome to ITK !

the itkConfigure.h file is generated by CMake.

When you run CMake to configure ITK you must
provide two directories. The first one is the
top directory where itk sources are. The second
one is the directory where you want ITK to be
built.

CMake will (among many other things) genereate
the itkConfigure.h file and put it at the top
of the binary directory you provided.

The easiest way to build ITK is by following
the 11-steps instructions provided in the
document:

    Insight/Documentation/InsightStart.pdf
