Hi Jon,

Thanks for bringing this up, and sorry that we did not have time to
get to it on Friday.


CMAKE_SYSTEM_NAME [1]

and

CMAKE_SYSTEM_PROCESSOR [2]


provide information on the target system and its processor when
cross-compiling. Is this sufficient for what you are trying to
achieve?
