[Insight-developers] Testing DCMTK ImageIO -- using MIDAS dicom directories stored as tar.gz?

I have a fairly extensive suite of Dicom directories on MIDAS

I tried just copying in one of the MD5 files into ITK/Testing/Data/Input
and the downloading part went OK, but itk_add_test and its ancillary bits
apparently doesn't know about untarring tar files to make a dicom
directory.

In looking through ExternalData.cmake I can't work out where I'd add the
intelligence to un-tar the Dicom gzip archive.  Anyone have any pointers
for me?
