Perry,

This is Excellent!  There are several open tasks that could use a bit of
software engineering, and I'd personally be happy to work with you to
point you in the right direction.

Off the top of my head, there is a nice project that requires a bit of
software development to implement a strategy pattern (or even just a
derivable family of sub classes) for selecting various mathematical
kernels for the ThinPlateSpline algorithms.

You could also start picking off outstanding issues from the bug tracker.
