Brian,
I used the existing tests which are not very rigorous. I manually verified that the values about the same during the tested registration. And I was able to get about the same results on registration of my data, as I did with the single threaded version. I believe there is a little more work to be done with the testing and perhaps some improvements to the numeric stability of the algorithm. I would like to think I will be able to get to this soon, but I am unsure. So let me know if you get time for this issue before I do.

I am tempted to just push it, but I think I would feel too guilty if I don't test it further, to my satisfaction.
