You can disable this behavior by setting  
INSTALL_WRAP_ITK_COMPATIBILITY to OFF. I don't like this name much,  
but don't have any better idea - propositions are welcome!
I would also keep only WrapITK.pth in the 2 files installed by that  
option. It should be possible to have FindWrapITK.cmake included in  
cmake, but I don't think it has been integrated yet. I'll try to reask  
for its integration before cmake 2.8 final.
