OK, well, the ITK warnings seem related to C++ template funkyness.  I
know gcc 4 has much better C++ support than 3.3....  How about trying
"sudo gcc_select 4.0" and seeing if that helps the next build?  Can gcc
3.3 build ITK on other unices?
