[Insight-developers] Problems with new registration optimizations

Matt,

Looks like a crash in one of the metrics on those platforms that have turned
on the new optimizations:

Also, 13 registration regression tests are failing on the optimized
registraion enabled gcc build:

Should we expect the exact results?
