We are also pleased to announce that Dr. Ross Whitaker, Associate 
Professor in the School of Computing and member of the Scientific 
Imaging and Computing Institute at the University of Utah, will be the 
invited speaker.

Dr. Whitaker is a strong proponent of open source.  He leads the 
development of VISPack and is one of the founding developers of the 
Insight Toolkit.  Dr. Whitaker is also leader of the NAMIC Algorithms 
Core.

Dr. Whitaker's talk will summarize the current activities and future 
directions for algorithms research and open-source software development 
within NAMIC.
